OverView
Updating the current web based tool in appearance while enhancing the process in building out an online team presence. Moving away from a template based system to a WYSIWYG environment for team admins. Incorporating newer tools and trends, easing the path as a whole for the user, while allowing them to have more creative freedom in the end result.
The Challenge
The current tool is dated in both appearance and functionality. Relying solely on static templates and the limited amount of originality or control admins have over the site, and the information contained within.
The Solution
Desktop and Mobile designs were created that incorpoated multifunctiong menus, allowing the user to access and update all the different sections of the builder. The arcitecture was fupdated to provide a more clear direction and understanding of what sections and functionality the user was updating or adjusting. The new web builder moved away from the current static templates and focused on the user having more control over the appearance, copy content, and extended functionality. There was no mobile experience for the web builder in the current product, so a mobile version was created with most of the same elements for creation as the desktop version.
The Conclusion
Working on the Sports Connect web builder was a very exiting opportunity. There was no limit of complex scenarios that needed to be thought through and designed for. Deciding what elements users should have the ability to add, remove, and edit... to what actions should be available from the mobile environment.
